YA/NA Urban Fantasy

I feel so insanely fortunate to be given the opportunity to review such a wide array of LGBTQ+ books on a weekly basis. Especially those written by members of the LGBTQ+ community that represent their #ownvoices experiences. This week’s read is a perfect example. Power Surge by Sara Codair is an impressive story with a diverse cast. It’s the kind of positive representation we really, really need out there, especially in the influential YA/NA genres.

Young Adult Urban Fantasy / Paranormal Romance

Welcome to another Off Theme Review, my lovelies! This week’s read was an utterly fantastic Young Adult ghost story from Entangled Teen by one of my Speilburg Literary Agency sisters in arms! As many of you know, YA reads are a bit of a struggle for me. However, Rachel Rust’s 8 Souls was superbly handled. The characters were believable for their age—not overly adult or painfully young—and their interactions and relationships felt true to the high school age group.

Okay, folks, this week’s review might go a bit off the rails because… hot frickety-frick-frack this is good stuff. I’d seen J. Armand’s book babies floating around the Twitterverse for a while thanks to his involvement in #writeLGBTQ, and I was positively champing at the bit to get my hands on them. So when we connected and scheduled him for a review on my blog several months ago? I was doing a butt-wiggle dance all up in my #amwriting nest. And let me tell ya, my lovely ladies, gents, and NBs… The Immortal Coil did not disappoint.
